Movie night

I woke up today a bit frazzled and confused.  A quick glance at the alarm clock showed that it was 8:27am.  What day is it?  Do I have class?  Why did I wake up so quickly in a rush?  :O

And then I remembered.  I had a dream, another one of those mixed-up, non-sensical dreams.  And this time the main part that I remembered as I sat up in my bed and rubbed my eyes was that Subway was selling bulgogi (Korean bbq meat) sandwiches!  :P

Yeah, weird, but totally makes sense, right?  Haha~  Except when I ordered the bulgogi sub, the lady at the Subway in my dream gave me another imaginary menu option, the Cookies 'n Cream (!!) on sandwich bread.  I told her that I had ordered the bulgogi, and she got so mad :/  She told me that the bulgogi sub's price increased to $120.  I was shocked, and knowing that she was lying, was frustrated and sad.  So I smiled, thanked her, and walked out.

In my dream, I told my dad about it and asked him if he could go in and order a bulgogi sub for me.  So while he ordered, I recorded his conversation with the same lady employee.  He got it at $12, but when we opened up the wrapping to look at the sandwich, we saw this weird ham/bacon fusion meat instead of Korean bolgogi! XD  wth...

I went back myself and tried ordering the same thing, but the lady told me that is was $120 and gave me a hard time again.  The whole time, I was recording the conversation with my Nokia phone's voice recorder.  Haha, I don't see what the point of this dream was >_<'' but it was probably because I was thinking of ice cream sandwiches yesterday, and how come the sandwich outside part are never actually slices of bread...  that and Anna and I were talking about Seoul Garden, a Korean BBQ restaurant in St. Louis!  ^_^''  Weird how things in the brain can run rampant!

Another part of the dream that I cannot make any sense of is that there was some type of natural disaster... an earthquake?  Constant lightning strikes?  Basically, if you weren't inside, you risked injury or death.  So I took a little bird with me into an office building and went to the 9th floor in an elevator.  We stayed in a hall of cubicles, each cubicle supplied with internet access on computers, a radio, and a water dispenser.  XD  Water!!  <3  I helped the little bird wash off in a random water fountain on the desk, and it was SO CUTE! ^_________^  It could talk, so it was thanking me for helping out~  Makes no sense @__@''  possibly something related to our behavioral ecology class, since we watched a video clip about birds yesterday :3

Haha, okay, that was a random post :D  Everyone watched movies last night:  Anna and Sean saw Hunger Games, Josh and Debra went to see The Vow, Book watched 21 Jump Street, and Elaine downloaded and watched Walk the Line in her room.  And I watched... myself flip pages in my women's gender studies textbook =_=  But my dream was like watching a very random movie in my head while I slept! ^^b

Bahamas- Day 3 (Beach day and Arawak Cay)

Catching up on my spring break?  Start with the Bahamas- Day 1 post!

Where are we?  Cabbage beach!  The morning and afternoon was dedicated to pure zoning out and non-brain functioning on the beach :)  Ahhhh~  It was super windy though~

Book with his camera

The rest of the crew!

Mmm, hair in mouth, delishhh

Tee hee~

We ran around the beach, sprawled out and slept, and played chicken on the shore.  Later, we made a sand village / castle, Debra got buried in the sand, and the boys flew their Transformers kite!  Fun times~

We took a taxi to Arawak Cay, where the fish fry is most excellent~  The taxi driver recommended Twin Brothers, and we went in excited for some seafood!

The waitress was super nice, and we got free cranberry bread which Elaine exclaimed all over :)  There were tons of people eating outside and inside too.

LOBSTAHHH  *drool*

I've only eaten lobster maybe 4 times in my life, so when I saw lobster on the menu, I jumped on it.  It came with 2 sides, but since I couldn't chose which sides (menu anxiety!) I wanted, the waitress gave me a third for free!  @_@  Everything was delicious!  I think the lobster could have been softer though ^^'

I really liked their Mac n' Cheese.  The macaroni noodles are flattened out and cooked into a casserole-like consistency.  Annnnnd it's a teeny weeny bit spicy <3  The coleslaw was okay (not a coleslaw fan), but I needed my veggies~~ D:

Josh's broiled grouper had *tons* of veggies!  Nom nom nom~

Excitement.

To save on cab fare and to enjoy the scenery, we set off from our dunch to walk back to the hotel.  We passed by the beach, downtown areas, and crossed over a bridge before getting back.

We reached downtown after 6pm, so all the shops were closed already.  The straw market still had a few store keepers left, and I bought a dolphin magnet for my sister :)

A Bacardi factory-- who ever knew their mascot was a bat? @_@

On the way back there were tons of restaurants and shops tucked away into the alleys.  This sushi restaurant was gorgeous, but I wondered if they ever got business.. so hard to find.

A dock right next to the restaurant

One of my favorite pictures of the trip!  <3  Wuv you guys ^_^

The sun was setting and the wind was picking up..

... so we decided to mix and switch sandals!  Elaine didn't want to though; hers were probably too comfortable :)

There's a view of Atlantis' main hotel towers from the other side of the bridge

By the time we made it to the bridge, it was dark

The bridge was pretty steep, so it took a while to cross it.  Debra and Josh competed against Daniel and me in a mock Mario Kart race across the last part.  If I had bananas or turtle shells, I'm sure we would have won ;)

Back near the hotel, we went to The Village again!  We bought Tortuga rum cakes (apparently a specialty in the Bahamas), and Daniel bought rum.  Like.. rum rum.  Haha~  So heavy~

Elaine's super excited!  ^^

Pretty~!

Since we were all still full from dinner, we went to Ben & Jerry's again for some ice cream.  I got a Very Berry shake, which was too thin for my liking (I like thicker ones!), but everyone else said it was super delish~  Nom nom nom, I liked the fruity flavors.  Where are my tropical fruits on this tropical island?! ~

TSO Karaoke Contest madness

Last week was kind of hectic.

I was like.  *dies*  ORZ

I'm pretty sure my face looked like >:O  or =___= the whole week.

I was probably making pointless jokes and complaining too much when I was ready to snap too >_o

Not even from exams or anything, but because I agreed to do some things I didn't want to do.  That's because I had a terrible excuse for avoiding it.  I'm not stern enough to be authoritative, and I don't command respect.  Is it because I'm short or my voice isn't loud enough?  Pretty much mentally throwing chairs at people the whole week.  But in the end, it was a good experience, and now I know when to say "no" to peer pressure ^^  But anyways, to recap:

Making 120 servings of bubble tea at home

I made mango, strawberry, taro, and original flavors!

TSO people came over to help seal them in little cups with the machine after I put boba in them

Yep, we own a bubble tea sealing machine!  I bought it off eBay with Debra last year, and I remember Taejin helping us carry it from the S40 mailing room to the 4th floor of S40 house!  :P

Here's Michael, a freshman exec giving out raffle tickets to TSO's karaoke contest!

Upstairs, other TSO crew are setting up refreshments

It's intermission!  Lots of people came for food :)

Taiwanese popcorn chicken handed out in little bags to go along with boba tea!

Lots of performances, but my favorite one was the winner's!  Here's our guest performer.

Ahh, so hectic!  I needed to calm down and find my inner zen... what to do?  Find pictures of guys with nice hair, duh!~  haha ;)  Just kidding (... kind of)!  These are pictures of a blogger I follow, but I covered his face, just so you could bask in the awesomeness of his hair with me XD

Oh my

that is some smexy hair <3

My dad emailed me another picture :)  This is him trimming Bacadi's fur!  Tee hee, she's so well-behaved.  If it was Balto, he'd be scrambling all over the place~ ^^

Expert fur-trimmer

Fitz's

O_O  Who is this little kid staring at his root beer float?

Haha, it's Book!  He had never been to Fitz's before, so we all headed over for dinner last week.  The restaurant is known for their root beer floats, since they make and bottle their own root beer and cream soda at the restaurant!  Actually, they sell a lot of their drinks on campus at WashU :)  Too bad I'm not a fan for root beer or cream soda @_@

I've had their burger in the summer with Josh, Elaine, and Debra, and it was pretty good.  Yummy, but how can I differentiate burgers?  They are mostly the same to me :P   So this time I ordered the meatloaf!  Super tender and not dry at all.  Crunch-tender veggies-- Yummmehh!~

Super flash-killed picture ^^''

My only complaint about the restaurant is that it is so dang dark upstairs!  We were reading the menu by phone-light, and I re-positioned myself around the table so I could see what I was eating.  They ran out the mashed potatoes that would have gone with my meatloaf, so I got double veggies instead <3  Tee hee hee~

Snap of Debra and her delicious (HUGE) salad!

Half & Half + The Fountain

The morning after we all returned back to WashU, we decided to visit Half & Half, a restaurant known for its brunch menu!  Elaine drove us all there, and we parked right in front of the restaurant. It was rainy and gloomy outside, so we hurried on in.

Walking inside, we were welcomed with such a cute set up!  Very brunch-like indeed.  We were seated at the window-side long table, but there were a bunch of "regular" tables on the side too.  The kitchen wasn't cut off from the other parts of the restaurant by a door; we could see people cooking up orders right from our table.

Warm and fuzzy feeling :)

Josh fixing up his hair :P

Elaine, Anna, Book, Debra, and Josh all ordered hot drinks.  They came out beautifully frothy, and Book's coffee and Debra's hot chocolate had heart / leaf designs!

Mmm~

Josh's green tea came with brown rock sugar

Debra and her hot chocolate

The brunch menu has a sweet side (pancakes, french toast, etc) and a savory side (sandwiches, omelets, scrambles).  We all had a hard time deciding what to get, since everything sounded so good!

Book is ready to dig in!  (Steak and eggs)

Debra's french toast surprises Josh with its grandeur!

Josh's salmon hash with hollandaise sauce

I'm not the only photo freak!

Anna and Sean super happy ^^

Clara cakes for Anna!

Group photo :D

Elaine and I both ordered the veggie hash.  It came out in a hot skillet with brussel sprouts, spinach, potatoes, and two delishhhhh eggs *o*  Heaven!  And delish~  Everyone loved their order, and we look forward to coming back sometime! :)

Half way done with my veggie hash~

In the afternoon, Daniel joined us for a venture to to The Fountain.  Elaine wanted to go for the ice cream and their pretzel cone!  The weather cleared up, and the sun gleamed upon all of us.  Super happy warmth!~

Why thank you :D

Inside was very quaint

Debra with a ducky face? @_@

Daniel being very attractive :P

Even more attractive male friends, haha!

And of course, my cute gals ^^

While they ate their ice creams and floats, Daniel and I ordered sandwiches.  We split half of each sandwich, so we could try both!  Both were pretty good; I liked the steak sandwich better, only because the cheese for the grilled cheese sandwich sort of solidified by the time I got to it.  The salad was super delicious with lemon poppy seed dressing, mandarin oranges, walnut, and feta (?).

Steak sandwich with lots of oozy cheese!

Grilled cheese with fuji apples inside :)

My half of the grilled cheese had 1 slice of fuji apple, but I like grilled cheese as grilled cheese anyways :P  Book was playing with my camera and got a shot of me gulping down the sandwich.  He ordered 2 floats, and the second one supposedly tasted like an orange creamsicle!

Pretty fun day!  I'm glad I get to hang out with friends ^_^  I'm still sleepy from the spring break trip and don't feel like doing anything >_<  Whyyyy~
